Description: This quadruped resembles a giant armadillo, save that its head is broad and squat. Rather than an interlocking shell, its hide is composed of actual stone that is constantly shifting slightly, with magma coursing through its veins in the place of blood.
Combat: The surface of its body is so hot that any claw attack deals 1 extra point of fire damage, while a succesful bite attack deals 1d6 extra fire damage, with sustained contact (such as in a grapple) dealing 2d6 fire damage every round. It spends most of its time rolled up in a form that, save for an extremely sharp eye, looks nearly identical to a boulder, having a +4 to its hide skill when in a rocky area. When it detects movement nearby, it generally begins combat using its roll ability - this attack is essentially a charge that can only be performed while in its boulder form, but differing in a few ways - 1) It has trample, dealing 1d6+6+1d6 fire damage to any creature Medium sized or smaller whose occupied squares it passes through completely during its charge 2) It's charge does not end in its primary attack, but in its unrolling at the spot of its choice, if it's within a creatures square, it can immediately make an attack with all 4 of its claws (instead of just 2), and begin a grapple with the creature. Given the incredibly hard rock that is its skin, it can shrug off blows from all but the sharpest weapons (DR 5/Adamantine), though anyone with the Improved Precise Shot feat can surpass this, aiming at the small gaps between its plates.
